Men Emerging
Men Emerging is a collective learning process consisting of 8 Fortnightly Sessions on Sundays. Men of all backgrounds commune together for a season in a space devoted to deepening embodiment, attunement and grounding.
Elements of Men Emerging
Deepening Presence
Men Emerging holds a space of depth where we can slow down, step back from the grind, and drop in to a common ground. Every gathering includes some form of meditation to begin the shift into deeper awareness and embodiment.
Connecting with truth
Each session emerges through allowing what’s true for each man present to be spoken. This is key to the emergent approach. Each man co-creates the session as these truths & contexts gather together.
Participating in Collective wisdom
Drawing on the practice of transformative dialogue, the group will gradually build a coherence and integrity grounded in deep listening. Through this we will begin tapping into a wisdom or collective intelligence beyond the sum of each of the participants.
Stepping up
Men Emerging recognises that beyond our personal growth that we are in a moment of deep collective crisis & uncertainty. In an accelerating, ungrounded culture we slow down and find a space to enquire and develop our sense of agency.
Cultivating Leadership from the Centre
‘Leadership from the centre’ is about finding a deeper ground within ourselves. It draws from an understanding that we are all individually the centre of our world and a web of relationships that make our life. When we are more connected with our centre, we can begin to lead from that place in our contexts & relationships.
Experiencing Mutual Support
When you join Men Emerging, you are joining a community of men committed to one another’s betterment and affording each other a non-judgemental listening. Through this thoughtful emergent approach we can also learn to shift our sense of confrontation as something negative or unpleasant into a generative ‘con-frontation’ — a being with the front of things that supports learning & integrity.
The Origin of Men Emerging
Upon discovering dedicated men’s spaces, I discovered something I didn’t realise was missing in my life. I created the Men Emerging initiative to pay it forward. Men Emerging builds upon my experience participating in a trauma-informed men’s group and subsequently leading my own centred on Connection, Creativity & Integration. These gatherings have been a ground of friendship where I’m given the space to show up differently, to experiment & to become.
Testimonials :
Fall 2021-Spring 2022
If I were to describe Men Emerging in one word, it would be Rejuvenating. Not only was every session transformative, but the experience set the tone for my week. I felt more grounded and connected with everyone around me. I felt more alive. There's power in combining fellowship and dialogos, and Jacob does this masterfully.

Jacob Kishere has masterfully taken our small group of men on a journey of self-and-other exploration. We engaged in a style of communication which -- if it were more widely practiced -- genuinely has the potential of allowing deeper truths to emerge, and understanding and mutual respect to blossom. Along the way, we all experienced moments of reflection, connection, and a definite stretching of inner spaciousness. And the bonds that grew between us participants during this 8-session series will remain with me going forward. For all of this, I am immensely grateful, and I am looking forward to future offerings.

Men Emerging showed me the degree to which speaking in a group capable of deep listening is an essential part of my process of becoming. The level of shared presence I experienced went far beyond what I see in most social contexts. There was often a felt sense of group flow from which a kind of group wisdom would emerge. It was as if we were both a part of this emergent presence and at the same time tuning into something beyond any one of us. This field of shared presence would often result in epiphanies and articulations that spoke directly to the internal and external challenges I was facing at the time. Cultivating this kind of dialogue isn't easy, I've tried in other contexts. This made it clear that Jacob's attunement to the subtleties of group conversational flow were playing an essential role in creating such a powerful experience.

Spring-Fall 2021
Some of the most insightful moments I had in 2021 came about during the men's group calls arranged by Jacob Kishere. The participants came together in a spirit of open inquiry and Jacob's highly intuitive and masterful manner of holding space for the conversation, gently guiding our attention at times, made these calls incredibly rich and nurturing. I am looking forward to future instalments, and am thrilled that he has decided to offer his skills through a private practice, something I am sure his clients will greatly benefit from.

It was Julian Jaynes who said 'language is an organ of consciousness', this idea resonates with me deeply and clearly if this is so then the richness of our vocabulary and the skill and art of using it is of huge importance (if you care about the quality of your consciousness). I have found myself trapped within self limiting beliefs that I'm a somehow a bit of a knuckle head when it comes to expressing the richness and nuances of my inner world. Likely it emerged with attempts to be like others resulting in a stilted and rather safe way of expressing myself, together with the mental affliction of being English. What I have found with doing this work of Dialogos with a community of men is that whatever blockage was stopping me from verbalising what is real and alive for me has dissolved. Perhaps because of the space that is expertly created by Jacob; a place of authenticity, play, slowing down and listening to what wants to emerge in the present moment. At any rate this is a place to let go of past patterns slowly and effortlessly and creatively explore as a community in the ever present now. The whole experience has something of the creativity, play and simple joy found in early childhood.
